Flavor Ade New London Release Party Recap!

Blacastan & KWOTE Scriptures

First of all I want to say that the New London Release Party was a fun time and a great success. Only one of the many Cool-Aide parties to come, Chum and I aimed to make the event more of a party than a rap show. We had the incomparable KWOTE Scriptures hosting the evening. He was very funny, engaging, and added flavor to the evening. We also had Blacastan perform. He rocked a dope set as well. Fishr Pryce was on the tables briefly as well. I personally would have liked to see him rock out some more but it was great to seehim killin’ it in Philly. We had a tweetboard that made for a lot of funny moments during the evening and in a lot of ways may have helped bring people start doing things they may not have otherwise done that evening.

We had a lot of good people in the building that evening and rather than have me tell you

Lemme tweet that!

what I thought of the show, I figured I’d have them tell you in their own words. I mean you already have “Flavor Ade” I imagine you’ve had enough of me bragging. Here we go! All pictures by Michele Pacheco!

The party definitely doesn’t stop after the jump!

Tino:

Rockin' Out

One Word: Energy.

What I liked most is that you looked like you were having a blast, and the crowd participation aspect of the performance was flawless. You didn’t seem unapproachable like a lot of other shows people perform at. It appeared as if we were all chillin’ in VIP with you. Keep those qualities up and you’ll be great.

Chep City:

Listen man, besides my tooth killin me, Icon was killin Every song he performed at Oasis!! I enjoyed it very much, stage presence was great and he really work da crowd…thats my dude!! LOOKIN’ FOWARD TO WORKING WITCHA AGAIN MIC!!!

Amanda:

Modern Day Fresh Prince & Jazzy Jeff

Loved it!!

What I loved most is that you still found time to chill with everyone while on stage and off, you personalized your show, it wasnt just music it was a glimpse into mic kings world! The energy you put forth was astounding! You and chum make a great team!

Keep it up!

John:
Great show. If I get to see you again in a club, I’m bringing something bizarre for the blindfolded rapping.
Michele:

Chum on the mic

Excellent Show! What I found most interesting is that the crowd at first felt uncomfortable but by the middle of the show, everyone was rockin’ to the beat, smiling, laughing & having a great time! We all felt a great vibe / stage presence from Mic King & Chum. I nearly lost it when Chum got on the mic and spit his verse! It was quite entertaining and unexpected!

Not many performers are able to get crowd participation these days. But when Mic King freestyled blindfolded, everyone was eager to be a part of the show & that is what I define: FLAVOR!

Ceschi:
I attended the Flavor Ade release party at the Oasis in New London, CT.  First and Foremost, it was great to watch these songs performed live since I’ve been bumping the album for months now.  Secondly, the community of friends and people who showed up made it a real positive experience all around – even some friends who were primarily Hardcore or Metal fans really left appreciating what Cool Aide does.  Finally, I really liked the live Twitter feed idea – it was a solid attempt at filling the gap created by modern-day isolationism. The only wack thing about the night was my massive loss at the casino…but I can’t blame Cool Aide for that one.

A good night with good people

I don’t have to tell you guys that it was a show you shouldn’t have missed, they did it for me. Make sure next time Cool-Aide is rocking at the Oasis in New London that you are THERE.
Shout out to Sean Murray for having us rock the house.
peace
